Original violin and stringed instrument parts infused in encaustic and mixed media on wood panel. This work is part of a series exploring the the "second act" of retired and broken instruments. The wood substrate of the violin is perfect for the use of the encaustic medium along with other mixed media to tell the story of resilience, good fortune, and letting go looks like through exploration and challenging uninvestigated beliefs and creating new narratives in possibility, curiosity, and reimagining.
